Customers Concerns Answered

“How do you do it?”  was one of our customers reaction to how we service an infested area. Well, there’s no simple answer to that one. The first step to getting a long-term pest free environment is to have a technician conduct an inspection. Only then, can an exterminator determine where the pests originate from and what treatments are necessary to combat the pest.

“How long will the treatment last?” Is usually the next question we get asked. Treatments vary in terms of how heavy the infestation has been and what condition the area being treated is currently in. We try our best to treat the affected area effectively but at times the technician will note that a follow-up treatment can be necessary to eradicate the issue. Businesses and restaurants need more consistent visits because they have an increased risk of pests with the same amount of reward for having a pest free area establishment.

“Will the chemicals you use harm a child or elderly person?” is the final question we get asked. The truthful answer is that the chemicals that we use are not harmful to a people or animal’s health whatsoever. However, some treatments do require a waiting period of 4-6 hours before reentering a premise. We do have an array of treatments that can be used instead of the general services of spray and chemical based substances which are Green Friendly.

The In’s & Out’s Of Pest Control

3/20/2018

Cleanliness is incredibly important. We wake up – brush our teeth, wash our faces and comb our hair before we start the day. We must also make sure our homes and office spaces are clean to! The constant removal of garbage bags, emptying the kitchen sink, sweeping and mopping the floors are all crucial to keeping your home a bugless space. If you follow common sense and both physical and spatial cleanliness - you are bound to see the results and enjoy a pest-free environment! It is also important to keep in mind that a technician can only treat an area if it is clean and empty. The chemicals they use to eliminate the pests can damage cutlery, food & other household items if left exposed during treatment. Various bugs and critters especially like to hover around open food as well as dirty dishes and/or garbage. Maintaining a neat and clean-living area can be tedious, but with a small amount of effort, you will be ensuring a clean and healthy home.
Keep in mind that pests like to live in the comfort of our bedrooms & kitchens, but that certainly doesn’t mean we need to treat them like guests! A great tip is to get into the habit of a quick clean-up every morning and evening. It could take as little as 10 minutes to clean your kitchen or dining room and we promise it’s worth it. Having daily awareness of your surroundings and keeping cleanliness in mind will become a preventative measure well worth your time!

Knock, Knock: Are You Home?

A friendly professional face greets you, tote in hand and a belt with various tools to exterminate, wearing a suit – it’s the exterminator! The chemicals he has are to ensure radiation of pests. He walks into your office or home and assess the situation, letting you know what to expect in the service and treatment options. There are a few instances when a technician may walk into your space and acknowledge what is there, explaining he will need extra time or an additional technician to help him rectify the pests or vermin you are pestered with.
After the initial inspection, the technician will inform you – the customer – and us – the office – what he found present, allowing us to determine if the customer needs a preparation sheet in order to gain maximum service. With heavy infestations and winter nearing, it is important to notify a local extermination company and let them know what you see present, to begin eradicating the pests or vermin before the snow begins to fall at our toes.

Avoidance of Pests Entry

Fresh coffee grounds smell so strong. Our noses are very keen and pick up on certain scents. So, do bugs! They smell through everything, sniffing their way into our homes and offices. Whether it be the left-over coffee stain near the kitchen sink, or the debris of garbage in the bathroom trash bin, pests find their way in and stay comfortable.

Being a bit scrupulous with cleanliness will ensure that pests steer clear of our homes and offices. There are certain household smells that pests find repugnant. One of many ways to lessen the number of pests travelling through our home or offices, is by using vinegar along the sides of the walls of the sinks.

Smells are important in a home or office. Staying clean is a great way to avoid seeing pests. If all else fails, and you have used some home items to keep the pests out, reach out to your local exterminator.

Who Are the Home Heroes?

Picture
An exterminator in green uniform knocks on the door the door opens towards him and he looks down. He sees a noticeable roach in plain sight. Holding a spray tank, he sprays in an attempt to try to kill the roach. The roach stumbles and falls, but gives a movement in an antenna and opens one eye (to prove he is still an active roach).
The exterminator leaves, and another exterminator in a grey colored suite, comes in and tries the same method to eliminate the roach. The roach puts his hands up in order to block the spray, and shakes the chemicals off himself, to prove he is still persistent, and a feeling of being used to this.
Lastly, a Squash exterminator in navy uniform sees the roach, and with determination he sprays his chemicals, the roach throws his hands up in defeat and dies with a dramatic fall.
Then in relief the technician thinks to himself, “I’m killin’ it!”

Summer Season

When you go to flick away that ant from your porch chair only to notice a few more crawling up the leg of the chair you bug out. Now what can you do, you ask yourself?  Summertime is the time when the ants get extremely hot and try to find shelter wherever their legs carry them. They invade our homes and offices at a higher rate in the summer and they avoid winter. Seasonal insects require a certain dedication to eradicate them.  In order for them to stop reproducing a technician uses a few chemicals to kill them instantly. Keeping your home or office clean is a good way to lessen the number of ants as they are attracted to leftover sweet food or drinks. Avoid leaving a mess and keep your space super clean. On the chance that the ants do like your AC better than the outdoors, reach out to a local extermination company and see what options are available to you.

No Entry - Beyond this Point for Mice & Rats

7/27/2017

We like to eliminate and exclude any reason for mice and rats from our home areas. Construction zones make it a bit harder to ensure that rats and mice are nowhere to be seen, as they hide among the small areas. Some ways to improve your home’s exterior perimeter is by closing holes, setting traps and sealing all vents with a wire screen.
Being friendly with your neighbor will pay off, as you guys chat and decide on keeping your garbage areas and overall exterior of your home clean. Construction is noisy enough, try not to add squeaky mice or rats to the mix, by keeping your home’s exterior perimeter clean. When we work together as a community, rodents seem to be less rampant.
